Booked a guide and one sled rental for they day. Our guide name was Fin and he was a pleasure to have around . Taught us how to properly use our Avalanche gear and was always there when we needed help getting unstuck. As for the sled rental I would recommend that the owners/ manager wouldn't rent out their equipment without having installed scratchers on them as when we were out sledding we had to stop a few times to let the engine cool down. I was surprised that a rental company wouldn't make sure that these were installed before each rental as it could cause damage to the machine. We didn't have any issues but I hope they read this review and prevent it from happening and giving another rider a bad experience with a Hefty bill. All in all I would highly recommend Fin as a guide and this company to all my friends and family.
A friend and I in our late 20's, paired with 2 ladies in their 60's on a extreme back tour.600$ per person is not worth it for 3 hour day....we left at 11:30 and headed back at 3.Why would you allow two 60+ Year olds to go on a extreme back tour?we where looking forward to to this trip for 4 months, it was such a disappointment. we flew to Golden, BC JUST for this snowmobile tour, to snowmobile in the mountains. such such a disappointment.we only drove off of the trails about 5-10 Mins to the first lake. stayed at the FLAT lake for the 3 hours.... I would never suggest this company for any snowmobiling.
Worst establishment ever. Not only did they take our damage deposit, they fraudulently caused damage to one of their sleds so that we would have to pay for the repairs. We arrived on a Sunday to the worst set up establishment. We had to go purchase tie down straps because they did not have any. The owner is a sad piece of work and that is another story. Message me if you want more details. Either way, highly discouraged any person from seeking their services. You will end up burned in the end. They are poorly run and managed. Although we loved our 3 hours of snowmobiling, we recommend seeking services from another vendor in the area.
Rented a sled with a group a few weeks back from these guys and what an experience! They failed to mention that the trails hadn't been groomed in weeks and were 100% whoops (super bumps); the guide said it had been two weeks, the owner said it had been four weeks. When filling out the paperwork we were told to leave the rate blank, like they charge what they feel like when they feel like it depending on who you are and what you look like (charged us $245 CAD and another guy in the group from Europe said they charged him $300 CAD). We took the "insurance" for $25, which had no paperwork, the guide said it covered everything but the lady at the desk said it covered the first $300 of damages. The sleds we got were beat to heck; half of them were missing pieces and had apparent damage. Half the heated grips didn't work on mine and the guy said he cut off the roost flap on the back the day prior because it was dragging. The sled I had was a 550 with an 800 fairing on it, which is hilarious since the guide and owner said they have a third party shop replace damage with OEM parts but the guide said the owner spends a lot of time fixing sleds, both clearly not. Reverse also didn't work and the engine had duct tape on it! (see picture)Two of the sleds in our group died during the tour, one shredded a belt which was apparently the wrong belt for the sled the guide told us; the other had computer issues which made it stall, the guide told us that's been happening lately. The lunch was frozen burgers and dogs; they burned the plastic at the lunch spot, super environmentally friendly. The guide also smoked at every chance he got and littered his cigarette butts; he also made a bunch of racy comments about foreign visitors. Not cool. They charged two of my friends for damage that was existing and wasn't (and couldn't) be cause by them; totally ridiculous. They also quoted a total amount but then said they forgot to tell us about other taxes and fees that should have been included in the total. The whole operation is run pretty poorly, by people who clearly don't understand customer service and how to run a company, and are only in business because of the surroundings.
Finn the guide was great. I made a mistake and picked the extreme package, this is not for a non experienced person. Not the most organized business I have been to. The guide made all the difference calm, knowledgeable , very helpful. If I would have read about the guy that had to pay 3000 for engine I would not have gone. The one person on our trip they sent guy out with half a tank of fuel, and his pull cord broke at lunch that was 45 min. But Finn was so good he made it seem like no big deal
