A great location, two washrooms, clean and in the wonderful forest of BC.
Nice family hotel across the city of Golden takes about 10minutes to get here from the city center. The rooms are generally good but nothing crazy. I guess the view can be nice from some of the rooms but I didn't get one of those so I can't really say.
The owners were great. The place was so beautiful and isolated. It gave you time to get even closer to your family. It really felt like a real vacation.
Maybe I'm just not familiar enough with hotel booking sites, but a room I expected to cost $129 ended up costing $148 when I paid the bill. Taxes should be included in the price when you search. Otherwise, the Alpine Lodge is a real classic ski-type lodge on the side of a mountain about 4 or 5 kms from downtown Golden. You need a car to get there. Decent continental breakfast included. Simple but clean, comfy accommodations. They have WiFi.
We stayed in the Eagle Chalet. It was very spacious and all the basic amenities were provided for a typical chalet. It was clean when we got there and the hosts were extremely kind and very relaxed. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone travelling with family or friends.
